I am a S. Chris Parishioner who used to visit Josephine and deliver Aid for Friend meals. I started in Sept 2003 and brought along my daughter Gabriele who was 3 1/2 mos at the time. We continued our visits until Josephine moved to Twining Village, around the time Gabby was 3 1/2 - 4 but stayed in touch for about a year. We often would think of Josephine and wonder how she was doing. We have photos of her and Gabby over those years. Gabby still plays with a tea set and Easter bunny that Josephine had given her. I still cherish a snowman that I place out at the holiday time in remembrance of her. We would often have delightful visits. I knew she was a sweet eater so I would bring a carvel ice cream cake around the time of her birthday or a box of chocolates for the holidays. We loved hearing some of her stories and sharing our own too. There was a mutual benefit to our visits. I was saddened to learn of her passing when I went to church this morning. It is quite a milestone to have reached 100. I remember taking her to an Aid for Friends Luncheon at Holy Family University and her not revealing her age when asked. She was a private person too. I am thankful for the opportunity to have shared a portion of her life and have been touched by her too.
