DTE Parent of three from the 1980´s.

I just finished reading the thoughtful and amazing article on Dr. Janiczek in our local Town Talk newspaper. Dr. Janiczek was my children´s principal at DTE back in the 1980´s. I had the pleasure to enjoy breakfast with Dr. Janiczek this past September. My partner and I stopped in Antionio´s family Restaurant for breakfast after my physical therapy at NovaCare in Swarthmore. He was eating his breakfast waiting for his friends. I immediately recognized him and starting reminiscing about the good ol days at DTE back in the 80´s. We laughed and had amazing conversations between the three of us. I told Dr. Janiczek I have photos of him marching in the Halloween Parade at DTE. We laughed when I mentioned his costumes as he said one of the teachers were in charge of the costumes. I told him I I remember when my first born was starting kindergarten in 1983 and he stood on stage at orientation and told us parents to be sure to feed our children breakfast before sending them to school, even if it is a cracker! When my second born graduated Kindergarten he held up one of their graduation gifts-a tee shirt saying Class of 2000. Dr. Janiczek said "You are looking at the class of 2000!!!! We left the school district in 1990 after my third born graduated Kindergarten at DTE. All three of my children are very successful and doing extremely well in life!!!
On the way out my party secretly paid for Dr. Janiczek´s breakfast as a small token of many thanks to an amazing individual to gave my children a wonderful foundation in Education. We were so glad for the chance opportunity at Antionio´s that September morning. I bet you are the lead angel of education up above!!! God Bless you and warmest regards to your children.
Very Fondly,
DTE Parent of three from the 1980´s

I served on Southeast Delco School Board with Lee. Yes, he certainly was dedicated, and a gentleman.
