Khalid, I was traveling on business when I heard the news about your father, and I was very sad not to be able to come see you at the services. Your father was a wonderful man. I know that he was always very proud of you and that he felt blessed to have such a fine young man as a son. I also know that he will always be with you, to help you along from day to day and throughout your life. Speaking for myself and all of your White Sox teammates and coaches, we are here for you if you need anything. I look forward to seeing you soon, and especially on the ball field in the spring.

I will always remember working with Leonard in MOD, because he was such a kind and warm person in a very hectic environment. I will never forget his calming influence and sparkling, always pleasant personality for which I was truly touched by.

Ilka, Mary gave of her only Son as you have done. You gave Leonard birth, you gave him life, you gave him love, and he loved you so much. For the short time I knew Leonard he was a wonderful man, Son and Father and now he is and always will be Your Guardian Angel. Leonard will look over you and the children every step of the way from above and I along with many of your true friends will look after you here on earth. I hope you can find comfort in that Leonard is at peace, no more suffering, no more cancer, no more infections. Just as Leonard was loved so are you, especially at this most difficult time. I will always be here for you, just a phone call away!

Ms. Ilka, There are no words that can express my sorrow for your lost so my heart can only go out to you at this time. I am deeply sorry for your lost. Watching you over the years, you have endured so much and have done it with such grace and courage.
