Dad, I miss you everyday. It seems I always hear or see something that reminds me of you. I often wonder what I would have said to everyone if I had been given the chance to speak at your funeral. I would have certainly first mentioned how much mom, Diana, Ross, Andrea & myself loved you and we will never forget you. I would have told a story or 2 about the trips we had taken together as a family or maybe spoke about how much you loved to have the entire family (extended family) around for a holiday event at the house. I would have told people how much pride you took in anything that you did from finishing a basement to just sweeping the sidewalks. I thought that maybe I would list off some things that you taught me. I can make a very, very short version at this moment....sailing, camping, riding a bike, changing a car tire, jumping the waves, riding a rollercoaster, to say you are just bewildered...not lost when someone in the car asks, when things get heated-keep your cool, if it's BS-don't take any $#!%.
You never let me down even when I thought I had let you down.
You were a human GPS, always knowing where to tell me to go when I would call you while lost.
You helped me even when I should have just stopped and figured it out myself.
Your irreplaceable. I will never know anyone as amazing as you ever again.
Sometimes I think you are still here with us, just off doing another project, just working on the shore house or off on an appointment. Sometimes I think that you are just still in the hospital and that I should call to find out when I can make another visit.
And sometimes I just break down. I know that I will never sail or fish with you again. I never thought I would miss hearing you say, "Don't I do nice work?!" Dad, I didn't say it enough, you do "do nice work". You have done amazing work. I could not have asked for someone to do a better job at everything you have done for all of us.
For everyone that has sent us their condolences, thank you. Hearing and seeing so many people reach out in honor of my father & caring for the Desimone family, thank you. It means so much to have so many people tell us about their concern & love.

Dear DeSimone Family:
I am so very saddened to hear about the sudden death of Lou. My Mom held insurance with Lou for over 25 years; and she had stated that he was a very nice man. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but I did speak to him several times on the phone and he was truly a nice guy. I just learned of his death today and I am so shocked by it. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers always. Take Care & God Bless.

My #1 cousin, I will miss you. You received the precious gift of Life from Our Savior. When you have faith, death has no sting. There is nothing to fear. The passing will be peaceful and pain is lessened. Death is a part of life. The celebration of your life is something that will always bring joy, your absence is our sorrow. It is the loss of you, Louis that we mourn. You still live on in our hearts, with your parents, children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and new grandchild.
Louis, we pray for you. May you rest in the eternal peace of the Lord.

Mr. Desimone helped me with my aunt's account when I needed help to move her to a nursing home. Although we never met in person, we talked on the phone many times and he was very caring. I remember how nice he was to my family and I am sorry for your loss. D. McLaughlin

Goulash! Today, I am thinking Goulash. As kids, playing in the back yard, come this time of year, we'd be whipping up a big batch of our best stinky Goulash under Louie's close supervision. Louie & the rest of us loved brewing that stinking mess and chasing each other 'round till we could smear somebody. (Mom, she wasn't quite as thrilled. Bet she was wondering how we'd gotten so filthy.) . . . Ahh the things we do for love.
