I was Tina's neighbor. She had a big heart and such a love for life. I will always remember her walking her cats on leashes, and her stringing jalepino lights on our forcithia bush outside at Christmas! Strictly a no no at our Condo! She loved to be herself and being Tina was always pushing the envelope with a spark of joy in her eyes. Think of you often...

Tina was such an inspiration to me! I taught with her at Great Valley High School in the 80's and sang with her in the Savoy Company. She was always positive and had such a great sense of humor. I cherish the time we spent together. May God bless your family at this difficult time.

Dear Tina:

You will always be with me and I will always treasure our times together. You were the sister I never had and teacher in so many areas of life.what a dull safe life I might have led without you to show me the way.

A poem I wrote upon Tina's retirement from teaching at Great Valley. For over 20 years we watched the cherry trees in the courtyard outside our classroom windows grow and were in shock the morning we saw them cut down at the beginning of the renovations to our school.

To Tina, a fellow lover of trees

I think that I shall never meet
A friend as true as Tina D.

A friend who brings surprises each day
And nurtures all her special way.

A colleague who sees the good in all
And shares her smiles in the hall.

A gal who in October wears
Pipi pigtails in her hair.

Women’s retreats many have shared;
You let us know how much you care.

Dear Tina, you’re one of a kind,
and in my life you’ve been a find.

I remember Tina as a kid and teenager when Bill and I were hanging out during summers between college semesters, Bill's little bratty sister. But she looked up to him, and he was good to her. I know she is missed. My condolences to Bill, Ami, and her mom and dad. Best wishes to all.

Tina was one of the most amazing people I have ever had the blessing of knowing. She always had me laughing. She was so positive and bright. She was truly an angel on earth. Vaya Con Dios Tina, my heart aches that you are not gracing this earth anymore. I love you, mi amiga!

Mrs. DeWitt was more than a teacher to me, she was a friend. Whenever I saw her, no matter how much time had passed she always remembered my name. More importantly she always taught me to be myself. She taught the value of individuality no matter how weird you may be. I feel so happy to have known such a wonderful person and will never forget the impression she has made on my life. I miss you so much, Senorita. I love you.

I have so many happy memories of long hot summertime days spent with Tina and her family when we were young. Those are valued childhood memories.

Senoritta Dewitt, what a very special teacher. I think I speak for all of her students when I say she was the favorite. She made learning fun and interesting. Having taken 3 years of spanish in highschool, not until my adult years did I realize how important those lessons were. I used it in my career as a therapist, I use it on vacation and I use it on a weekly basis living in the area outside of Washington DC. It was valuable and she was fantastic. I was lucky enough to let her know that. Thinking of you all during this difficult time.

Tina was an awesome teacher! Besides being a colleague of mine, she taught my son Spanish 2. He loved her and her funky review games! Tina was a unique individual - always positive and ready to share a funny story. She always brought a smile to my face. I will miss her.
