I just heard of "MOONIE'S" passing today, I offer my condolences to all his family and friends, although we did attend SPHS at the same time but I did not know him well but am told of all the niceness he bought to the lives he touched, may your hurt be eased soon and your memories be forever, God Bless..............

Ten years we were there for each other. Thick and thin, ups & downs, we never parted. Even though we are not together physically we will be united spiritually forever. I'll cherish all our memories, all your little silly sayings. All the respect you showed everyone all your life was given back to you in the end. I just learned today of your dad's passing, my thoughts and prayers go out to you all.I was a classmate of "Moonie" or "Mikey" at Thomas and Southern and fondly recall razzing him about winning the Best Smile Contest. He always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor that I will always remember. Moonie was the kind of guy that you looked forward to seeing at every class reunion.May fond memories, close friends, and God's grace get you through this time of loss.

Michael, Erica, and Vito,
First off, I just started to smile when I read the post under me, because my dad was just telling me last week about the "best smile" story, and how your dad was so handsome and had gorgeous teeth - I never thought I'd hear "Tex" say that about another man. Your father's passing has affected our family in unimaginable ways. The friendship that our parents had shared their whole lives is what made all of us family in the first place. Lately, we've all been growing up and growing apart, but you guys will always be my cousins, and just know that we love you all very much and are always right around the corner, literally! Uncle Dennis is always willing to share a crazy story about them being lost at sea, going to Vegas to see Frank Sinatra, or road trips to Florida. Those two were like brothers and that type of friendship is hard to find anymore. So whenever you feel like hearing a crazy story, or just feel like talking, give us a call. Maybe someday we'll be old enough to find out the real reason everyone calls our dads "Moonie" and "Tex".

When I think of Michael, the first thing that comes to my mind is when we were in Thomas Junior High together and he won "THE BEST SMILE" contest. What a handsome guy! He always had a kind word and a loving smile for everyone. He was a true friend to me through the years and he will be sadly missed.
I will remember him and his family in my prayers. Michael may you be resting in peace.

Dear Erika, Michael, and Vito,
When your Father was the Vice President of Thomas Jr. High School, I was the President. He was always a kind, quiet, good, not to mention very handsome kid. I did remain friendly with him throughout his life and it was always a pleasure to see his smile when I ran into him. I remember when he intoduced me to your beautiful Mother, he was so proud. I think her illness broke his heart. Please accept my deepest sympathy and I will see you on Friday. I have been trying to contact our classmates from school.
