I remember Mike is always smiling. Even in the chaos of the emergency room he was always very calm. He had a great sense of humor. He certainly loved his wife Jackie. He was very proud of both of his boys. He will always be missed by myself and many others.

Kindness. Compassion. Caring. All wonderful descriptions of Dr. Michael Kleinman. Clinically, I think "The Wizard" says it all. Outstanding clinical skills combined with an always-caring approach. It doesn't get any better than that. Thank you to Dr. Kleinman for teaching all of us, and teaching me, how to make a difference in this world. I don't know if "Mikey dog" was shared with all or just me, but this simple paperclip and pushpin "dog" allowed Mike to push through the challenges in the ED and to help all he cared for. Will always remember his kindness and his lessons. Also, sharing this pic of Mike and Steve in the ED. Thank you, Dr. Kleinman, and peace!

A terrible loss. Mike, "Dr. Kleinman" was a true mensch and an incredible mentor to me... first as a paramedic and then as a medical student. I followed a similar path and he was always available for guidance. I am a better doctor and person because of him. He will certainly be missed.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mike during his residency at York Memorial Osteopathic Hospital. His class of residents were such fun and I have wonderful memories of them all. Mike stood out as one of the more quiet, intense residents. He was genuinely a kind and compassionate man.

I worked in the ER @MH for many years and always enjoyed working when Mike was in charge. He lead by example and practiced with love and compassion.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Mike through his son David at the fire department. And although David is not a doctor he is very compassionate which I´m sure was passed down from his father. Mike always showed support to the fire department. Always made time to talk to everyone and truly cared if someone had an illness or injury. He was an amazing, kind, soul who will be missed. To his family and to David-please know that you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Kleinman was simply the best. He was a skilled and knowledgeable physician who taught me so much. He was a compassionate healthcare provider who always was kind and respectful to patients, families, nurses, EMS crews, and other physicians. I remember when he was state EMS physician, and also Director of the YHED. When I was a ED RN, he encouraged me to continue my education as an NP. He hired me into the ED as a relatively new NP provider against the objections of many of his ED peers. Mike was a great person and true friend. Always willing to give you a few minutes of his time. My most sincere sympathy to Jackie and his sons.

Jackie, Steven and David...my prayers are with you. Mike was 1 of only 2 ED Specialty physicians that worked at MoHo when I started in '84. He was so knowledgeable, kind, calm, compassionate with pts and staff. I learned so much from him just by working with him! I am so grateful that I had the privilege to call him part of my ED family. When I was a brand new ER RN I was nervous to be the only RN on nightshift (yes things were so different back then!) Mike said I got your back carol- we will be fine. He instilled confidence and such knowledge- I always wanted to be at the bedside with him to learn more and more. He will always hold a special place in my heart.

My sincere condolences to Mike's entire family. Dr. Kleinman became my most respected medical trainer during my Emergency Medicine residency many years ago. He remained a virtual mentor in my brain throughout my entire career setting the gold standard for empathy, compassion, humanity and common sense medical decision making. I would not be the physician nor the human being I am today without Mike's influence. So sorry for the loss... for all of us.
