MICHAEL NAIDOFF Obituary

NAIDOFF MICHAEL Age 84, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in Haverford, PA on June 9, 2025. He was the much loved husband of Stephanie (Weiss) Naidoff and loving father of Daniel Naidoff. Michael was born in Philadelphia to the late Dr. David Naidoff and Rose (Cotler) Naidoff and was the brother of the late Burton (Susan) Naidoff. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958. He went on to graduate from Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. It was at Penn that he met Stephanie, who was at the Law School, and they both graduated on May 23, 1966, the day after they were married. Michael pursued a career in Medicine, interning at the University of Chicago, doing his residency in Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins University, and a cornea fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco. He then served in the Army for 2 years at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, after which he returned to Philadelphia where he joined the faculty at Jefferson and Wills Eye Hospital. Michael was a dedicated Ophthalmologist for over 35 years but also found time to pursue his love of reading, all the arts, world travel, and sports like tennis, skiing, and cycling. In addition to his wife and son, Michael is survived by sisters-in-law Susan Naidoff and Ellen Grabois, three nieces and two nephews, and five great-nieces and two great-nephews, as well as many devoted friends and colleagues. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at LAUREL HILL FUNERAL HOME in Bala Cynwyd, Friday, June 13th at 1:30 P.M. I was saddened my Michael´s passing. I lived in the Mayfair neighborhood with him and we were classmates at Lincoln High School. Our family were patients of his father.
Michael was an intelligent sophisticated and dignified gentleman. In later life he grew to be successful in his well chosen profession as well as a philanthropist and patron of the arts with a wonderful wife equal to his accomplishments.
His was a life well lived.

Dr. Naidoff was a great man. We were his dad's patients in Holmesburg, and we continued with his son. What a legacy.
I´ll never forget his kindness to my parents and family. RIP.

Michael was a good friend, a straight arrow, funny and so smart , always wanting to learn more! You always had to wait for your appointment to get your eyes checked because he talked to and cared for each of his patients! My husband and I enjoyed his company so! I will miss him ! Barbara

With deep gratitude and sadness, I remember Dr. Naidoff as a gifted healer whose skill and care helped save my sight. He was a really good guy with steady hands and compassionate heart.
