As a former Hatboro-Horsham School District student, and specifically a former Blair Mill Elementary School student, I was speechless the first time I learned of Mrs. Doherty's passing. I remember learning about this sometime during my winter break at Penn State University, Abington, and I was in shock by the news, yet I felt as if I didn't know how exactly to respond. Mrs. Doherty was a gift to Blair Mill, definitely, and I do remember some moments while I was attending Blair Mill where the mood was sour. Yet at the same time, I do remember a lot of good memories she shared with every student and I. One of the greatest memories I've had personally is those moments when Mrs. Doherty would introduce guests at assemblies or introduce the grade school choir when I was involved within the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I do also remember the time she gave everyone best wishes whenever we arrived in school every day, or best wishes when we are on the bus home or going to somewhere fun. For the six years that I've attended Blair Mill, Mrs. Doherty never stopped to share the love and kindness to every student she has met, both in the past, present and future. She was one of the greatest elementary school principals if not, one of the greatest principals I've ever met in the 13 years I've spent in the Hatboro-Horsham School District. Every child she met she would always greet with the best smile possible, and every family she would get to know, my own included. Mrs. Doherty was one of a kind and it was a pleasure for me and my sister to know her in our own times at Blair Mill. From this moment on, I will never stop pushing forward in my own path as an aspiring filmmaker within my own academics at Penn State without thinking what Mrs. Doherty would say to help motivate me for the good of my future. It was heartbreaking and shocking to hear of her passing, and I want to send my prayers and thoughts to her family, friends, and each and every former student, teacher, and faculty that has gotten the chance to know her every day.
To Mrs. Doherty, we love you, we miss you, and we want to simply say, thank you for everything you have done at Blair Mill. May the angels sing with you in heart and peace. :)

To Mrs. Doherty's family - Oh, how your hearts must be broken! While none of us can know exactly how you feel, please know that we mourn with you and for you.
She demonstrated her immense care for her students just weeks ago when she accompanied my grandson to the ER and devotedly stayed long after my daughter arrived; and only returned home after Alex was revived and the crisis was over.
To this grandpa two-thirds of a continent away, who has never met Mrs. Doherty, it was a revelation of her noble and loving soul. I shall never forget her greatness.
In due time, may it be that your joy over her memory will exceed the pain over this sudden and painful loss. Shalom.

The Doherty family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Both of my girls went to Blair Mill and truly did have the BEST Principal. My thoughts and prayers to Nancy's family. Nancy was such a lovely lady. A wonderful role model and champion for our children. My son was blessed to attend Blair Mill Elementary School while Nancy was Principal. She had such an endearing way about her that made her so loved by everyone. I personally appreciated her advocacy for the children and making sure everyone was treated with respect and kindness. There truly are no words to express how very sad we are and how much she will be missed. God bless.
My heart is so heavy. My Blair Mill Family lost our leader, our superhero. Love to her family, friends and my coworkers

I went to Blair Mill and Mrs. Doherty was my principal and she was the best principal ever. I never met a woman who loved her job and the children as much as she did. She was so sweet to me and my family and I appreciate all the lessons she taught us will at Blair mill because I took those lessons and applied them to my everyday adult life and I'm now 20 years old. It just saddens me that a beautiful spirit has been lost my prayers go out to her family, friends and the staff at Blair Mill Elementary School. I had seen Mrs. Doherty in the summer and when I told her that I was moving to Alabama she was so sad and said that she would miss me and that I had to come and visit her.

I was able to see her this past Friday with her grandson at school. We were joking about how he was the same age that my son was when my daughter started Blair Mill and now my son just started Kindergarten there. You could see how much he adored her. She was a wonderful woman and I am glad that my kids got to know her. Please accept my families deepest condolences on your loss. I hope the knowledge of how many peoples lives she has touched will provide you with some level of comfort.
