Nancy Kruse Obituary

KRUSE
NANCY (nee Brown), age 77 of Moorestown, NJ, passed away Sunday, June 15 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital after a 17 year struggle with cancer. Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan on Nov. 10, 1930 to Dr. Gordon T. and Margaret D. Brown. She received a BA from Michigan State University and completed post-graduated work at Ohio State University and University of Toledo. Nancy was an educator, initially teaching high school Spanish in Michigan, and later teaching at the elementary level in Lima, Ohio for 24 years as she raised her 3 daughters. After her retirement from teaching, Nancy moved to Moorestown, NJ, where she was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Moorestown Women's Club, the Moorestown Historical Society, the P. Buckley Moss Society and the Zeta Tau Alpha MSU chapter. She enjoyed travel, gardening, spending time with friends and family, reading, and even an occasional competitive 5k walk. Nancy was the proud first place finisher in her age group at the 2005 and 2007 Friends of Mary Husty 5K held annually in New Castle, Delaware.Nancy is survived by her 3 daughters, Karen (Don) Allen of Hampton, Virginia, Kathy Kruse (Bill) Manion of Haddonfield, New Jersey and Kris Kruse of Midlothian, Virginia. She is also survived by grandchildren Will and Lexie Manion and Claire and Rebecca Allen. Her brother, Bill Brown, lives in Granite Bay, California. Services will be held at 2 P.M. on Wed., June 18, 2008 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 W. Main St., Moorestown, NJ 08057. Interment will immediately follow at the Trinity Church Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Rena Rowan Breast Center, 14 Penn Tower, 3400 Spruce St., Phila., PA 19104, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy. Ste. 250, Dallas, Texas 75244, or to Moorestown Visiting Nurses, 300 Harper Drive, Moorestown, NJ 08057.
