Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Mr Wilson's passing in my Ghost Stories 2014. I attended North Hills Elementary and also lived next door to the school. My parents, Len and Marie Schneider thought highly of Mr Wilson. I have fond memories (all of the staff, various activities--5th grade camping trip, making of sweet rolls, the post office we built and sold stamps, being Jr member of the Natl Audubon Soc, field trips, the magnificent school building itself, etc) from K-6th grade at North Hills.

I was sorry to learn about Paul's passing. I had been working with him during the last several years, in publishing his railroad slides in a series of books published by Morning Sun Books. Reading facilities II has taken a bit longer for me to complete, and I feel really bad he will not be able to see it. I alwaqys enjoyed our cionversations and I know he liked talking to me about trains. Mitch Dakelman

We always enjoyed Paul's visits to our library. He had quite a life story, as chronicled in his books, which we have all enjoyed. Our thoughts are with you. Jeanne Heicher, Director, and staff of Newport Public Library

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Wilson's passing. He was my pricipal when I was at Glenside Weldon in the 70's. I was a bit of a handful at times but he always was fair to me in his punishment. I always respected him as a principal and as a man. I remember his love of trains. I got to view them in his office more times than I care to say. Our school was a better place with him at the helm. Thank you Mr. Wilson for all that you did for so many children. And thank you to your family for sharing you with us. May you rest in peace knowing you made a differance in so many lives.

Paul Wilson was my 6th grade teacher as I approached teenaged years. He was the first male teacher I had and significantly influenced my growth and that of many of my classmates. We liked his firm but fair discipline. We learned about how he served his country in WWII, building plane and ship models. He gave me a book on how to type and I learned this skill for a lifetime. He taught me leadership skills I've used all my life. He showed us how to plan, and we carried out a student-organized camping trip to French Creek, learning how to plan meals, hike trails, visit a forest ranger tower. We 6th graders from 62 years ago will always remember him. Steve Telkins

Having "fought the good fight," be it for the classroom, the military, his extended family, or in his model railroad avocation, he can be seen reflected in his family and friends. Peace. Norma Arnold
