A professed Oblate of St. Francis de Sales for 66 years, died July 14, 2017, at the home of his religious community in Childs MD.
Father Harvey, son of the late John and Julia Harvey, was born in Philadelphia in 1931, attended St. Martin of Tours School and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School for Boys in 1949. He earned a BA in Latin and Greek from Niagara University and completed his studies for the priesthood at DeSales Hall in Washington DC. He was ordained May 31, 1960 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Wilmington DE.
Father Harvey taught at Father Judge High School, Philadel-phia, and DeSales High School, Lockport NY, and then was assigned to the Oblate Missions in South Africa from 1963 until 2004. He retired to Annecy Hall, Childs MD, in 2006.
In addition to his Oblate religious community, Father is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 A.M., Wednesday, July 19, at Our Lady of Light Chapel, 1120 Blue Ball Road, Elkton MD, where Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Oblate Community Cemetery.
