I met Dr Alburger as a Temple premed student working with him in his fracture clinic at St Christophers Hospital. He graciously became a mentor to me. I returned to St Christophers Hospital as a medical student to rotate on his service and kept in touch with him throughout my career. He treated everyone with cheerful compassion. I appreciate him and will never forget him. May G-d bless him.

My Deepest Sympathy to Dr. Alburger's entire Family. I was forever in love with him for saving my left arm from amputation at the age of 6. I had a terrible crush on him and thought of The Wonderful Doctor many times throughout my life in complete gratitude.
Thank you for sharing him with us.
It could not have been easy.

Dr. Alburger was such an amazing person. He took care of me with osteogenesis imperfecta since I was 10 weeks old. He was caring, patience and had all of my trust. No one could ever take his place or his skills. He would make having OI a little better with his sense of humor. I remember when I was little I would always tell him it urted instead of hurt and he would get a laugh out it. I was very sad to hear this news and he will be missed dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Dr Alburger was a true genuine kind soul with lots of humor and a beautiful smile!
I met Dr Alburger in 1990 my daughter 10 weeks old fracture femur St Christopher´s Er. I grabbed his arm and he walked by because I was afraid of my child going in shock. He immediately came to her aide and after taking her to many Dr diagnosed her with osteogenesis imperfecta from that point my daughter was his star patient with him doing Doctors many would not have attempted. He literally has pieced my daughter back together. There is no robot or machine that will ever have this man´s skills.
Dr Alburger wasn´t just a Doctor he was a good soul! We will miss him....

Phil was a classmate at the Prep. I moved from the area but did get to see him on a few occasions at dinners and lunches sponsored by class of 1960. He was a good classmate and a great physician and friend.

It is heartbreaking to lose a man who was truly a gift to us all. Knowing and working with Phil for half of a century was a gratifying and exciting experience for me. I will truly miss his thoughtful wisdom and boyish charm. He gave of himself for the benefit of his patients and he will long be remembered for his contributions. Rest in peace my friend. Phil taught generations of orthopaedic residents how to be humble, kind, compassionate doctors. His sense of humor and humility showed us how to overcome our own adversities. He always put his patients first and the thousands of children that he treated are better for it.I am sure that Latch greeted him in heaven with a "well done".
