Phillip Evans Obituary

EVANS PHILLIP J. EVANS, 75 years, of Pittsgrove Twp., N.J., died on Monday June 10, 2002 at Jefferson Hospital, Phila., PA. Born and raised in Marcus Hook, PA, he was a resident of Pittsgrove for the past 24 years. He was a graduate of Ridley High School in Ridley Twp., PA. He was a Merchant Seaman with the National Maritime Union for 19 years and Chief Plant Operator for Sun Oil Co., Marcus Hook, PA where he worked for 22 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed playing cards and taking care of his property. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary L. (nee Nichols) and his devoted children, Penny Evans-Kelly (Jim) of Phila., PA, Pamela V. DiSalvatore (Joe) of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Phillip J. Evans of Boothwyn, PA; grandfather of 10, great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Pauline Burns of Seaford, DE, Anna Clawson of Wilmington, DE and Joseph Evans of Newark, DE, dear brother-in-law to Sara Nicholas of Pittsgrove, N.J. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Friday June 14th, 11 A.M. at THE BARCLAY FUNERAL HOME, Broad and Maple Sts., Clayton, N.J. Viewing Thursday eve from 7 to 9 P.M. and Friday morning from 10 A.M. to Service time. Interment Porchtown Methodist Cemetery, Franklin Twp. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mission Teens, P.O. Box 207, Norma, N.J. 08347.

"Boss Man" will continue to influence my thoughts and choices thoughout my life. I respected and loved this man. He was a fine example of a person who knew himself and what he was capable of. He gave his love freely and listened kindly when sought out. I'll miss you,Uncle Phil. My love, kind thoughts and prayers to the family.
