PHYLLIS ROCHE Obituary

ROCHE PHYLLIS M. Age 82, died on July 13, 2025 of kidney disease. Born to Philip and Frances (O'Brien) Roche in Philadelphia, on March 10, 1943, Phyllis was a loving daughter, sister, niece, and aunt, and grew up in the Oxford Circle area. She spent many happy summers on LBI. Survived by brothers, Michael (Kathy), James Brien, Patrick (Cindy), sister-in-law Kay, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who mourn her. Phyllis was a proud alumna of Little Flower, Chestnut Hill and Rutgers. Residing in Maple Shade and later Marlton, NJ, she taught in Camden City schools first at Bonsall School, and later as the librarian at R. T. Cream School's, always helping children learn and grow. Phyllis retired to Sunset Beach, NC, and enjoyed time with friends, volunteering, gardening, and crafts. The Eagles Super Bowl win made her year. Always curious, she loved books, tech gadgets, and art. Phyllis left the world a more beautiful place. May she rest in peace. Funeral Mass, St. Martin of Tours Church, Thurs., Aug. 14, at 11 A.M., 5450 Roosevelt Blvd., Phila., PA.

Earlier today

Sending love and prayers to the family of this incredible woman who taught me so much at Bonsall in the 1970s - from French to caring for houseplants - she was a "Renaissance" teacher. Still carry her knowledge of things to this day! Rest peacefully Ms. Roche!!
