Raymond Helmuth Obituary

Helmuth Raymond J. Of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on July 4, 1939. Beloved son of the late Louis and Sadie (nee Erdman) Helmuth. Cherished brother of the late Louis Helmuth, the late Joan (Thaddeus) McGovern, and the late Kathryn (Robert) Osborne. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews as well as great/great great nieces and nephews. Ray was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School, Temple University, and an Army Veteran. He was a whiz with numbers and spent his career working for the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority and American Heritage Credit Union. Ray was a sports enthusiast. As a youth, he spent many hours at Lighthouse Field perfecting his soccer game. While at North Catholic, he was part of the winning championship tradition as a varsity player. He was also a huge Flyers fan and a season ticket holder for many years. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Monday, August 11th, 9:00 A.M. at Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Ave., Phila., PA 19115. Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Interment New Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Raymond may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation alzfdn.org or the American Lung Association lung.org. www.rrfunerals.com
