Through BMWCCA, many years ago, i got to talk with Rich by phone; I am not sure we ever met in person, because I lived in South Jersey and he was in the Philadelphia suburbs. But it was obvious to me that Rich was a good guy.
I am so sorry to learn of his passing.
May his memory be for a blessing.

To the family and friends of Richard M. Meltzer, better known to myself and many in the motorsport world as Tex Meltzer, my deepest condolences to all.
I knew Tex through our mutual memberships in the BMW Car Club of America. He was a friend of mine for many years and we had lots of fun at the annual Oktoberfest events. We always sought out sushi in whatever town the event was being held, we teamed up for fun rallies and Time-Speed Distance rallies, and trivia contest, and we even took home trophies every now and then. We scheduled test drives of the BMW models together and we enjoyed driving our own cars at the racetracks around the country.
Tex and I shared many happy times together and sometimes we laughed so hard our sides split.
Tex was a good guy, a good friend and I will miss him. The memory of our good times is something I will always treasure.
With Respect,
Keith Cunningham

You were a great BMW Oktoberfest friend and beyond that we had emails and phone calls to keep that friendship going. Your health care worker was a saint the day she put you and I in to touch to talk that one more time...a time to cherish, my friend, Tex!
