RITA A. MURPHY

MURPHY RITA A. (nee LANZA) April 24, 1947 - July 11, 2025 Beloved wife and best friend of Harry J. Murphy, III, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 78. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Rita was the cherished daughter of the late Louis F. and Grace (Giovinetti) Lanza. She was a devoted sister to Louis Lanza, Jr. (Dorothy), Mary Anne Mongelluzzo (Andy), and the late Jean Curcio (Steve). Rita's warmth, compassion, and deep love for her family touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Over the years, Rita was an active member of several women's clubs and generously gave her time to charitable events and holiday drives aimed at helping the less fortunate. Her community spirit and desire to give back were just some of the many ways she lived a life of kindness and purpose. She will be especially remembered around the holidays-when the scent of her pizzelle cookies and Hello Dollies filled the air-as a woman who brought joy, comfort, and sweet traditions to all those around her. Rita's legacy of love, generosity, and togetherness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Family and friends are invited to attend her Viewing on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 9:30 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at Christ the Redeemer Parish/Assumption Church, located at 318 Carl Hasselhan Dr., Atco, NJ 08004. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. at the Church. Interment will be private.
