ROBERT LAWLOR Obituary

LAWLOR

ROBERT MARTIN, age 90, of West Chester, formerly of Paoli, peacefully on March 7, 2015, with his family by his side.
He was born on Nov. 17, 1924, in West Philadelphia, the son of the late John Joseph Lawlor and Elizabeth Lawlor. He graduated from West Catholic in 1941 and Villanova in 1945. He graduated from the Navy ROTC Program and served in the Navy from 1945 to 1949.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret (nee McKeon); children, Robert J. Lawlor, M.D. (Amy), Margaret Hutchinson, Esq. (Mark), Maureen Yelovich, M.D. (Richard), Kathleen Hopkins (James) and John Lawlor (Lori); 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Very Rev. John Lawlor, C.M., Sr. Vincentia, I.H.M., and Sr. Mary John, I.H.M.
Although educated as an Electrical Engineer, he spent most of his career as an Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing with the Synthane Taylor Company and was often heard telling his representatives there is no need to manufacture the product if we don't sell it.
His greatest time was spent with his family in Sea Isle City NJ during the Summers. Known as the Block Captain of 83rd Street, he could be seen reading a book while keeping an eye on his grandchildren or taking long walks with his love of his life, Marge, to the Townsends Inlet Bridge.
His family looked forward to his thoughtful family toasts at every holiday gathering and he was certain to recognize each family member for accomplishments however minor. He demonstrat-ed such a gracious respectful attitude to everyone he met.
As an avid Villanova fan he was sure to teach all his grand-children the Villanova Alma Mater song.
He will be sorely missed and he left all of us with the request that we stay true to ourselves and family.
The family has planned a private Memorial Mass and in lieu of flowers, would appreciate donations to Villanova Univ., 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova PA 19085, or Neighborhood Hospice, 400 Marshall St., West Chester PA 19382.
