REILLY SEAN MICHAEL PATRICK Passed away Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 57 years old. Sean is survived by his beloved fiancé Eileen Hurley and his loving children Garrett and Ashley. Sean is also survived by his devoted father James P. Reilly, Jr., husband of the late Maureen Reilly, and his loving sister Theresa Catelli, wife of the late Robert (Bobby) Catelli and will be deeply missed by many loving extended family members and friends. Sean was raised in the Lawndale section of Philadelphia and grew up playing soccer at the Gibbons PAL under the direction of his favorite coach, his Dad. Sean graduated from Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem where he was a member of the soccer and golf teams. To this day, he sponsors an athletic soccer scholarship at HGP for students hailing from Northeast Philadelphia. Sean graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1990 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He was a proud resident of Dillon Hall, the "smartest, strongest, humblest." Sean certainly lived up to Our Lady's University motto of "Vita, Dulcedo, Spes" "Life, Sweetness, Hope." Sean's dedication to Our Lady inspired him to fund the James P. Reilly, Jr. Notre Dame National Security Lecture Series Fund. Under the direction of Professor Michael Desch, these lectures provided a forum for national security scholars to connect with policy makers and the public to explore the most pressing issues in national security. Sean was a member of Notre Dame's President's Circle as well as the Athletic Director's Circle. For the past several years, Sean endowed the "Sean Reilly Family Left Tackle Football Grant-In-Aid," which provided at least three young men the opportunity to live out their dream of playing Notre Dame Football. Go Irish! Sean was a lifelong learner, inspired by his Mom who was a catholic school teacher. Following Notre Dame, Sean went on to earn his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law and his MGA from the University of Pennsylvania. He read Machiavelli's "The Prince" every summer down the shore. From 1990 to 1998, Sean served as an Officer in the United States Army Reserve, following in the footsteps of his father, who served in the United States Army during the Korean War. For the past 19 years, Sean was the President and CEO of Roscommon International, a full service government relations, consulting and marketing firm. He was a former member of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's State Transportation Advisory Committee and was a member of Governor Wolfe's and Governor Shapiro's transition teams. Prior to leading Roscommon, Sean served as the State and Political Director of United States Senator Rick Santorum and as an Assistant District Attorney under former Philadelphia DA Lynne Abraham. Sean was active in his community and held memberships with the Pennsylvania Society, the Union League of Philadelphia, Commonwealth National Golf Club, the Elks Lodge in North Wildwood, and the "Princeton Law Review." His favorite place to be was at his shore house in North Wildwood, fondly known as the Reilly Compound, hanging with Hurley, G and Ash after having dinner at Alfie's or some TullyNuts right off the beach at the Number One Tavern, where of course he would take over the jukebox playing the Notre Dame fight song and Mr. Brightside a couple hundred times. Sean collected many things throughout his life such as political memorabilia and sports memorabilia from his beloved Philly teams, but his most treasured collection was the group of friends who had become his brothers. This special core group of men helped sustain him through so many of life's battles and he knew how truly blessed he was to have them by his side right up to his last day. Sean certainly lived the "Life of Reilly" and had experiences and stories that could fill many more pages, but his favorite and most memorable experiences were with his kids. His biggest joy in life was being Garrett's and Ashley's Dad. Parents' Weekend at BC and USC was always the first to be scheduled in his calendar. Plunge Weekend, football tailgates, shopping sprees in Paris….he did it all with them. Sean commented every day how lucky he was to watch their journey to adulthood and how proud he was of all they accomplished and he will forever watch over them. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the TOMLINSON FUNERAL HOME, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, and again Friday April 25, 2025 from 10 to 11 A.M. at Christ the King Church, 3252 Chesterfield Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19114, followed his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M.
