Susan Murr Obituary

Murr Susan Mary (nee Althouse) August 27, 1946 - October 6, 2025 Susan Mary Althouse Murr, 79, of Warminster, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, October 6th, 2025. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, and her presence will be deeply missed. Sue was born on August 27, 1946 in Philadelphia to Edward and Christine Althouse and brother Robert E. Althouse. She graduated from Springfield Township High School (1964) and Bloomsburg University (1968). Sue continued her education by receiving a Masters from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) and getting her teaching degree and certification through Beaver College (now Arcadia University). She worked as a speech pathologist for the Bucks County IU and then worked in the Instructional Support Team for Pennridge School District before becoming a classroom teacher at Guth Elementary School in the same district. Sue believed that a person should never stop learning and continued to take classes through the community or colleges into her seventies. She loved the arts: literary arts, visual arts and performing arts. She was a docent at local museums, volunteered at the library and for the Art Goes To School organization bringing art to students and adults. Sue was an avid reader and loved to read to her grandchildren. She enjoyed going with friends and family to art museums, craft fairs and outings to the theater to watch plays and musicals. Susan had a passion for traveling and experiencing other cultures, especially through food. Susan is survived by daughters Meredith Murr (Santa Barbara, CA), Julie Rider (Jamison, PA) and Jennifer Murr-Palsgrove and son-in-Law Jason Palsgrove (Yardley, PA); her grandchildren Nina and Evan Daugherty, James and Samantha Rider, and Elizabeth and Nathaniel Palsgrove; and her childhood best friend Barbara (Blaetz) Perry. "Celebration of Life" luncheon Saturday, October 18th at 1 P.M., Giuseppes' Pizza and Family Restaurant, 1380 Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Text Jennie (215-595-6020) if you plan to attend. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Art Goes to School or the Bucks County Free Library.

We lived nextdoor to Sue for 25 years. She was always friendly and said hello. As the years past she would proudly introduce her grandchildren to us. She was a nice lady and a good neighbor. Our Condolences to Sue's family.
