Number 23 and Number 32 in the backfield. I was fullback and your were halfback so I protected you so you can be free. I am always in the backfield protecting you in life and out of life. Put the 2 in front of 3 and we are the same, we are one. I miss and love you Pipper.

Hey Pipper, Your name came up in a conversation today and it has been since the days of our youth back in the 1982 Philadelphia City All Star Game that we last seen each other. Even though we were competitors on the field when Roman and West, it was great to finally be teammates on the same side in the All Star Game particularly because you were so damn fast that I was sick of watching you running all over us during the regular ! You woulda been really fun to watch had I not been on the opposite end of those TDs ;-) ! We also struck up a nice but brief friendship during that time! I heard of your passing several years back from Mike Hoban and I was so sorry to learn of it!

You were a great player and teammate and an even better guy!

May You Rest In God's Peace!

I am so sorry to see Pipper gone from this world. Pipper and I were runnings backs together at West Catholic and I was with him on the field when he broke the punt return record that he still holds today. Pipper was the best high school running I ever saw play. I was lucky enough to be with him for 2 years while he scored many touchdowns. I will miss you my friend and will see you in the next life.

Love, Kathy D.

O'Neill Family,
I'm saddened to hear of your loss. Pip was my teammate at West and like many have said he was truly "GREAT". In SWP Pip was like a rock star everyone either knew him or knew about him, and yet he never had a big head or looked down on anyone, he befriended me and many others and he made us feel as welcome as his closest friends. He was a special man with the bravery of a gladiator. Cherish his memory

To Timmy's Family, MR. O and friends,

Timmy was a really great ball player.
He enjoyed to see the neighbors at Bartrum field watching the games.

When Tim opened his heart to you, you were "IN". You could feel it.

Pipper, will be there to welcome us all Home. I sure we'll be looking for Timmy too!

My sincere condolences to the O'Neill family. Tim was one of those people that if you had the pleasure to meet, you would never forget him. I was lucky enough to be in the same back field with Tim. He was truly gifted. I believe everyone would have loved to seen him at the reunion. But one day we will have the chance again. You will be missed. Tim was 1 in a million.

Timothy O'Neill was my Daddy and he was a excellent one if I may add. I love him alot and I know he loved me just the same. I wouldn't replace him for anything or anyone in this whole entire world. I remeber he used to say to me " how much do you love me ?". And I'd open my arms as far as I coulD possibly open them. Then I'd say "how much do you love me, Daddy?". And he'd open his big arms as big as he could go and give me a big hug. Another thing my Daddy loved was candy. He ate alotta that. I never really saw him play football or any type of sport, but I'm most defanitely sure that he was one of the best athletes from what i hear and see in newspapers. If my daddy had only five dollers, he would probably most likely give you half or more of it. He was a good, lovable, kind, and generous man. It's sad that he had to go on such short notice, but I know that he's in a better place. A place where he gets to see his mommy and many others whom he missed very much. So daddy, although it might be a while until i see you, I know that you're in a better place where there's no more pain or tears or anything negative. I'm gonna make you prouud (: I love you and you will always and forever be in my heart <3

Piper was a power house of an athlete, but, not many people saw the kind and thoughtful person he was. I remember he always made sure the girls on the corner were OK. He insisted, none of us were ever aloud to walk home alone and saw to it that we all got home safely. He would wait until he saw us wave our hands to him once were were across the walk-bridge at Bartram before he would continue to go on his own way home. One of the kindest guys on the corner. He made us feel safe on that long walk late at night.

My sincere sympathy to Pipper's family. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Remember Pipper from my days at West Boys as a Counselor. He was a great athlete. One of the best photos I took for the yearbook was Pipper sitting on a bench during a football game holding an ice pack against his head. Good memories. R.I.P.

For Pipper: I will always be reminded when I think of you of your youthfulness and the promise you had and many times showed. Your smile and mischievousness are what I will choose to remember about you and when we were young. Your passing saddens me and I pray you are at peace. You were a good guy (the highest praise anyone from Southwest Philly can earn) and will be remembered fondly by me. My condolensces to the family...
