Dear Walter, Bill, and family:

While I never met Mr. Strine he was instrumental in the development of the Rockwell Retirement Center in his hometown high school in Milton, PA. His vision for the facility based upon the lifelong work of Norman Rockwell is preserved today at the Rockwell. His commitment to a senior living facility has benefited many residents of the facility. On behalf of the residents, former residents, and staff of the Rockwell we express our sincere condolences.

Dear Walter, Bill and family;

On the passing of your father, Walter, who was a great man:

I fell in love with the world of real estate through your father and all of you. I have your father to thank for my career choice for his love of same.

However, your father ought best be known and remembered as perhaps one of the greatest givers of our time. Only he knows the extent of his personal generosity, but the stories abound and I have no doubt of their authenticity. Many a money order of significant sum was hastily ordered for a family who lost all in a fire or who suffered some other tragedy, thanks to Walter Strine, Sr. There was no way for the recipient family to know that the source of same was your father and grandfather. He knew though, and that was all who needed to know. He was a man of great action for his fellow man and few words would accompany his generosity. His love for the trades, the arts and those activities which develop, challenge and bring out the best of his fellow man are more apparent to all to see. Your father knew how much God blessed him and he put all that God gave him to great use. Only Walter and God know, though, how much God gave through Walter and that, I am sure is fine with them both.

In your time of grief, please remember that while it may seem that there is a hole in your heart, such is not the case. Your heart hurts because a piece of it is missing. It is with your father, now in heaven, we pray. To fill the hole left in your heart, he left a piece of his heart for you to always have with you and for you to remember him by. May God bless you all and may He bear you up in your time of grief. Our world is a little colder and a little less kind because your father and grandfather, who was a great giver, has just passed from it.
