Bill was a friend of my Dad, Capt. Charles B. Gindele and he worked with him on the Hero Scholarship Fund. As I remember, my Dad had great respect for him. I'm sure they are swapping stories now in heaven.

Claudia and Jim wish to convey their deep respect to Bill, and our heartfelt sympathy to Agnes and family. We always held Bill in high esteem for the manner in which he conducted his life and the love he had for his wife Agnes, his sons and grandchildren. St. Peter has opened those pearly gates and has invited Bill home to stay.

Dear Agnes and members of the Eckles family,
Bill was my very good friend, a man I respected and admired. It was an honor and privilege to have served with him in the Philadelphia Fire Department. May God protect and care for Bill as he protected and cared for others.
