Camp Cando, ACS PO Box 897, Hershey PA 17033 or Canine Companions for Independence, 286 Middle Island Road, Medford NY 11763, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements will be made at a later date.

I know it´s been years but I can´t help but say how much I miss you Zach. You were truly my best friend. Especially a best friend when I needed one the most. I couldn´t have went through cancer without you. You inspired me and showed me what it was like to fight. You showed me that I wasn´t alone. I miss the good times we had. All the pranks we use to pull on the nurses together. Especially the goldfish prank you pulled. For that brief moment. You helped me forget and made me feel like a normal kid again. I love you man. Fly high and I´ll see you again one day.

My dear Kraus family~
Words cannot express the deep sadness that I feel for each and every one of you. While he was always in my thoughts and prayers every night, I never really asked anybody from North Penn as to his well being. it wasn't until yesterday, that I was going thru my mom's Bible that I saw some older church bulletine announcements that I felt the need to search. i just know that Zach is being cared for by my mom, Mrs. (Nurse) Nancy. I didn't know Zachary, nor do I know your family, but my son had the honor of wearing a sticker on his hockey helmet in remembrance of Zachary over the holiday weekend. I simply know this, I hugged my son a little tighter and enjoyed the weekend a little more knowing your son was watching us from above. God Bless you all!

To the Krause family,
It was a blessing to have known Zach. Isaac and I comment often on his niceness. Zach was Isaac's preschool buddy and because of the many field trips Tamara and I had the pleasure of carpooling with the boys who were friends. Then Tori and Elise had their turn at preschool together and dance too, so I was able to see Zach and watch an amazing boy and an amazing family battle illness with grace, dignity, strength, and love. It has been a privilege and a blessing to have had you touch our lives. Zach will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. Zach was such a kind and gentle soul. It is hard to imagine that children can teach adults how to live their lives, but Zach did just that. Through his perspective we can understand that we should live each moment of our lives to the fullest and believe we can overcome any obstacle put before us. While I personally did not have the pleasure of meeting Zach, I felt like I had through emails by Patches, his devoted Grandmother.
I send my warm thoughts and prayers to all that knew and loved Zach. An Angel has returned to the heavens when Zach left us on this earth. I am sure he is smiling down upon you all now and I hope that this offers you the peace and love that you all deserve.

Kraus Family, it was an honor to be able to spend a week each summer with Zach at Camp. He was an amazing young man who taught me so much about kindness, strength and perseverance. I'm thankful that I was able to spend time getting to know him, and I will carry his memory in my heart.

Rich, Tamara, Tori and Tyler
I will always remember Zach and his desire to help others and his willingness to give to others. What an incredible gift he had! The influence he has had on countless people will be remembered for years to come. Zach is in Glory now, pain free, wearing his crown filled with jewels and singing with the angels. Kraus Family, I can't begin to tell you how much Zach has touched my heart in the three years that he was at OMS. He fought his illness like i've never seen in such a young person. His strength and dinity was immesurable and I will never forget him - also I will never forget the times he spent in my office for lunch or to just stop in for his watermelon jolly ranchers. There are just not enough words to express to you and your family how sorry I am for your great loss.

We will always have a place in our hearts for Zach. Mike always said what a great friend Zach was and he actually looked up to Zach ( funny how that seems- only you guys will understand that one.) Zach was truly an amazing kid. He never let his cancer affect his life in a negative way. I remember the first day I met him. It was 6th grade orientation day at OMS. He came with a smile on his face and we started talking right away. He was smart and kind and he lived everyday like it was his last. Although we were'nt the best of friends, I will miss Zach greatly. Kraus family, you are in my prayers.

I never really got to know Zach but I have worked with tyler and knowing him I know Zach was a good and kind hearted person just like his brother. My heart goes out to you all and your in my prayers. Tyler I know first hand how this is going for you having just gone through the same thing with my sister Judy in June. If you need to talk or just have someone listen I will always be here for you and I'm just a phone call away. Maybe we can be good for each other because I'm still have a rough time with losing her. I know it's won't be easy.

Jon Runyan of the Eagles called yesterday and we shared a good healthy cry because Zach is onto his second life probably creating a stir up there in heaven.
