Jacob Conway Obituary
Jake will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering support toward his loved ones, and his boundless intellect. Possessing the ability to recall and recite information at a moment's notice with amazing proficiency, Jake often reveled in educating others on obscure topics while continuously striving to expand his own depth of knowledge.
A fervent fan of the Washington Capitals, one of Jake's treasured memories was watching with close friends as the Caps won the Stanley Cup in 2018, attending the victory parade on the National Mall in DC, and being present as the team raised the banner the following season. A dedicated cinephile, Jake had a passion for watching and studying movies which was matched by few and at one point aspired to be a filmmaker himself.
An avid reader, Jake spent countless hours combing through the pages of books on all subjects. Given Jake's incredible sense of humor, a particular quote from one his favorite authors is fitting during this hour of remembrance:
"DON'T THINK OF IT AS DYING, said Death. JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH." - Good Omens , Terry Pratchett
Jake leaves behind a constellation of hearts who loved him deeply. Among those: his mother, Claudia Conway; father, Robert Conway; brother Matthew; half-brother, Joseph Conway; and his best friend, Nick Woessner, who was more like a brother than a friend.
A memorial service in honor of Jake will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Mountcastle Turch Life Celebration Home; 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, VA 22193. We welcome friends and family to join, share stories, memories, and the warmth of the community that Jake so deeply affected.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking a donation to be made in Jake's name to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Though we navigate through the waves of grief, we shall find solace in the times Jake's light guided us and will continue to brightly illuminate the spaces of our hearts as his memory lives on.
