Jeff Chuday, 49, of Locust Grove, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Bethlehem, PA on February 27, 1967 to Eugene Joseph and Barbara Ann Chuday of Dale City. Jeff grew up in Dale City, VA. and attended Garfield High School. Then he went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies).
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; his parents (Barb and Gene); daughters; Kylee Chuday of Chesterfield, VA.; Shelby and son-in-law Andrew Hjort-Michel of Hedgesville, WV; step-son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Holstein of Nokesville, VA; step-daughter, Cathryn Holstein of Yelm, WA.; four grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, Phineas and Genevieve and his sister Janine Chuday of Woodbridge.
Jeff worked for many years at Progressive Insurance and loved his job. He was a big man with a big personality and never met a person he didn't like. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Dale City and spent most of his youth and adolescent years devoting time to his youth group and performing various jobs around the church. He always felt his early teachings at church were a driving force to his success and happiness as an adult. He was a true man of honor and never broke a confidence or a promise; he would not say an unkind word about anyone. He was devoted to his family and loved spending time with them; especially at the beach house in Nags Head, North Carolina. His heart was as big as he was. He loved all sports and was an avid fan of the Redskins, Capitals, Nationals and Hokies. He was especially fond of golfing and spent many of his leisure hours devoted to the game. He had a creative side and enjoyed photography and took many beautiful pictures over the years. His infectious positivity was unsurpassed and he always had a smile and a kind word for anyone he came across. Jeff will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. This world has lost a truly wonderful man.
