Anna Burleson

Anna Burleson, age 88, of Hubbardston, passed away on Christmas Eve, Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023 at The Laurels of Carson City with her family at her side.
The daughter of Friedrich Bernard and Elisabeth Maria (Klauer) Böhm, she was born on Jan. 23, 1935 in Darmstadt, Germany.
After meeting and falling in love with Jackie R. Burleson (a young American Airman, who was stationed in post-war Germany as part of the Army of Occupation), she immigrated to the United States and she and Jack were married on April 4, 1964 in Fairfield, Calif. She became a proud United States citizen on Oct. 17, 1979.
Together they raised one child and enjoyed 59 years of marriage. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Anna enjoyed volunteering with the VFW, sewing, crocheting, knitting, bowling and travelling especially with their trailer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Earl Burleson; mother-in- law, Janice Burleson; and a son-in-law, Frederick Bennett.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Burleson of Hubbardston; their daughter, Michelle Bennett of Mio; one grandson, David and Patricia Burleson of Pasadena, Maryland; and two great-granddaughters, Ayla Burleson and Kira Burleson both of Pasadena, Md.
Committal services at West Side Cemetery in Hubbardston are planned for the Spring.
