David William Mooney

David William Mooney, 71, of Bradenton, Fla., went to be with our Lord on July 2, 2022.
He was born in Omer to William (Bill) and Faye (Durant) Mooney on July 8, 1950. He grew up in the small town of East Tawas, where the Mooney family has called home for many generations. After briefly living in a few other states and several childhood trips to Sarasota, he decided to call Sarasota/Bradenton, Fla. his home in 1980.
David was a man of many skills and trades. Of those skills his favorite was woodworking. He even built a rowboat from start to finish! He enjoyed several small projects, such as chairs and picture frames as well.
He loved being outside enjoying the Florida sunshine and you could almost always find him near the water. In the last few years he liked watching other people's videos on social media which led to him making some of his own on Instagram! He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Desiree Mooney; grandsons, Jonathan Jr., Bryson and Liam Mooney; sister and brother-in-law Diane and Art Moore; also his extended family and friends in East Tawas.
