Diane J. Pippin

Diane J. Pippin, age 64, a lifelong resident of Mikado, died on Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 with her family by her side.
She was born in Lincoln on Oct. 3, 1950 to Milton and Verna Travis (nee Benson). Diane married Daniel J. Pippin on Sept. 16, 1967 in Mikado and they worked together for several years at Migatron Precision Products, Inc. in Oscoda, where they later became owners in 2007.
Her love of community is evident by her long list of volunteer work. Over the years she has been an active part of the Mikado Goodfellows, Alcona Little League Baseball, Oscoda High School sports and choir boosters, Oscoda-AuSable Home Builders and the Oscoda Colts youth football program just to name a few. Diane was the ultimate team mom for the OHS wrestling, softball and volleyball teams as well as her son's successful football program in South Carolina. She was also a proud sponsor of the Migatron Bombs youth teams for her grandson and others. She spent countless hours devoted to all the youth on these teams and in our community.
Diane also was proud to work with her dear friend, Mary Lowell, at the Oscoda Yacht Club. She enjoyed to cook, make candies "sports treats," play on the computer and other electronics, precious moments and above all spending time with her family and supporting everything they did with unconditional love.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Dan; son, Danny (Laura) of Greenwood, S.C.; daughter, Laura (Kirk) Franklin of Oscoda; mother, Verna Travis of Mikado; five grandchildren; Amanda (Jay) Dixon, McKinley Pippin, Leah Pippin, Owen Franklin and Evan Franklin; great granddaughter, Kennedy Diana Dixon; sister, Karen Travis; and brother, Herb Travis. She was preceded in death by her father, Milton; and sister; Kathy McNeil.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. (Scripture at 7 p.m.) at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. The place of interment will be Mikado Cemetery.
