Ellen Beck Obituary
She was born in AuSable on July 21, 1941 to the late Howard and Elsie Hofacer (Mallory). Ellen graduated from Oscoda High School in 1959. She was self employed for 42 years as the owner and manager of the Oscoda Bakery and AuSable River Company.
Ellen liked to travel and she especially enjoyed trips to the New England states. But her life centered around her family, having the opportunity to babysit for two of her great grandchildren, Aubrey and Reid of Oscoda, for the last four years being the highlight. She was a very caring and giving person helping many people but always insisted on being anonymous.
Ellen is survived by her husband, Larry Beck, whom she married in 1958 in Oscoda; daughter, Kim (Richard) Gilbert of Ariz., son, Kurt (Debbie) Beck of Oscoda, son, Keith (Ginny) Beck of Fenton and son, Darren of Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Rick, Christopher, Andrew, Casey and Ashley; five great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaya, Reid, Mia and Sophie. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Bob (Rita) Beck and Rick (Joan) Brooks; and her special friend, Sharleen.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at Hope St. John's Church in Oscoda with Rev. Rebecca Owsley officiating. Interment will follow in Oscoda Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. Memorials may be directed to Iosco County Humane Society and condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.

Larry, and family I just read about Ellen as your name traveled through my brain. You have my prayers as you go forward without her. You both were super to me during my years at WAFB 1971-1974. I enjoyed those years in Oscoda with many great friends resulting from it. GOD Bless you always.

Bob and I are so sorry for the whole Beck family for the loss of Ellen. We did not learn until this morning that she had died. Please accept our condolences.
Our memories of Ellen date back to the bakery and River Store with a smiling face when we walked in. When we moved here as retirees in 2001, we met many members of the family and Bob played golf with Larry. We knew how loved Ellen was and how much she will be missed.

Heaven had gained another angel, and many of us will miss a great person here on earth. Ellen always had a smile for everyone. She just beamed when she had the grand babies with her. A kinder person you will not find. Rest in peace sweet lady.
