Ervin Briggs Obituary

Ervin Leon Biggs of Tawas Township passed away peacefully at Tawas Village Assisted Living on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, age 85 years.
Ervin was born in Tawas Township on July 15, 1936 to George and Wilma (Mills) Biggs. He graduated from Tawas High School and shortly after enlisted to serve our country in the United States Army. He proudly served for two years, stationed primarily at Fort Jay, New York.
Upon his honorable separation, Ervin came back home to Michigan and began his long, 40 year career with Jefferson Trucking, retiring in 1993. In conjunction with his truck driving, Ervin also maintained his working farm. As a matter of fact, farming was his passion! Even into his later years, Ervin was still bailing and selling hay.
Ervin served on the Tawas Township Board along with serving on the Fire Board for many years. He also worked the USDA doing crop surveys for quite some time.
Ervin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy (Carissa) Biggs of Muskegon; grandchildren, Erin Biggs, Liz Biggs, Sloan Biggs and Paige Biggs; special friends who became family to Ervin, Dave, Raeann and Sarah Murringer, and Brian and Donna Lansky. Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Biggs, to whom he married on Sept. 15, 1956 in Tawas City. Before Phyllis' passing, the couple spent 62 beautiful years of marriage!
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Online condolences may be shared at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
