Jeffrey Mochty Obituary

Jeffrey K. Mochty, age 47, of East Tawas, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 at his home.
He was born on Aug. 29, 1977 in Tawas City to Frank and Denise Mochty (Guay). Jeff graduated from Oscoda High School in 1995 and began work as a mason, having developed his talents alongside his father. Growing up as the baby of the family, he attempted to be the "boss" of the house and keep his older sisters in line.
Jeff was very smart, he had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and was mostly defined as being kind and generous. He would even give you the shirt off his back. Jeff was also known as Mr. Fix It as he was very mechanically inclined and had the skills to weld and rebuild just about anything.
He was an avid outdoorsman and even spent five years in Alaska as a hunting guide. Jeff loved farming and all animals. He enjoyed bird watching and especially spending time with his dogs.
Jeff is survived by his two children, Jeffrey Mochty, McKenna Mochty, and their mother, Nina Mochty; his parents, Frank and Denise Mochty; three sisters, Angie (Shawn) Gooch, Amy (Tom) Giglio and Tammy Mochty, all of Oscoda. He is also survived by seven nieces and nephews, Carson Gooch, Ava Gooch, Sam Giglio, Nolan Dolliver, Ethan Dolliver, Frankie (Thad) DeCaen and Megan (Dylan) Gagne; and several aunts, uncles and extended family.
Private arrangements were made and you may offer condolences at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com. Memorials may be directed to the Iosco County Humane Society.
