Lawrence Krestar Obituary

Lawrence "Larry" J. Krestar, age 72 of Hale, passed away at his home on Saturday, June 24, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on April 1, 1951 in South Fork, Pa., to the late Michael and Margaret (Diamond) Krestar.
Larry married Susan Marie (Shafer) in 2000 and they had over 30 wonderful years together.
Larry served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1974 as an explosives operator and was honorably discharged at the end of his service. After his service he went in to the oil and gas industry working primarily as a laborer.
Larry was a kind hearted man, always willing to help and lend a hand. He loved fishing, the outdoors, and tending to his yard. Larry enjoyed reading books and putting puzzles together.
Larry is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Becky (Mark) Blackstock and Michael Standley; brothers, Mic, Pat (Angie), and Steve (Tammy); sisters, Barb Dumond, and Linda (Bob) Shaw; grandchildren, Nik Welch, Kaylea Ripenback, and Mia Standley; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret; grandson, Jacob "Pistol Pete" Marrow; grandnephew, Lance; and sister-in-law, Donna Krestar.
A memorial service with honor guard will be held on Thursday, July 6, at 1 p.m. at Zion Bible Church, 3495 E. M55, Prescott. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Iosco County Animal Shelter. An online guest registry is available at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com to share condolences, memories, and photos of Larry.
