Ronald Koenig Obituary

Ronald Joseph Koenig, 80, passed away peacefully, June 25, 2022.
Recently returned and resided in Oscoda, he was born April 13, 1942 to Joseph and Darly Koenig. His father's military career allowed him to live in Germany, Alaska, Massachusetts, Kansas, Florida, South Carolina and Michigan.
He touched many lives throughout this journey. Ron graduated from Oscoda High School and the University of Michigan. At U of M he was a welterweight boxing champion and proud recipient of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
Ron was an avid sportsman. He dedicated his time to healthy and sustainable fishing and hunting. He continued his enrichment of the community by joining the Boy Scouts of America, supporting his son and many other troop members on their journey to Eagle Scout.
Ron is survived by his two children, Michele Koenig of Richmond, Va. and Daniel Koenig of Sanford, N.C.; his brother, Daron Koenig (Donna), and sister, Debbie Wiltse, both of Oscoda. His legacy will live on through them, as well as through his dear relationship with Marsha Livermore of Shelby Township. The granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and extended family will undoubtedly think of him any time they pick up a fishing pole or see unique wildlife. Ron is reunited with his parents and late brother, Jim.
His genuine good nature, contagious laugh, love of life will be sorely missed, but never forgotten! In lieu of flowers, donations to the "Dementia Society of America" would be appreciated.
