Clifford Osmer Obituary

Clifford "Denny" Alden Osmer, Jr. Clifford "Denny" Alden Osmer, Jr. died peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the age of 83 in Hilton Head, SC, after a long courageous battle with emphysema. Born in Jamestown, NY, on November 28, 1930, he was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Marjorie Osmer, and his sister, Nancy Newgreen. Denny was also predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Suzanne Shearman Osmer in 2002. He is survived by his loving and devoted partner of ten years, Lynn Olsen; his son Richard Osmer and his wife Cindy of Nashua, NH; his daughter, Perry Osmer of Spring Hill, FL; and his daughter Nancy Chalmers, and her husband, Jim, of Melrose, MA. His four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive him; Richard Osmer, his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Liam and Colin; Christopher Osmer; Matthew Osmer and his wife, Nicole; and Jillian Chalmers. After serving four years in the United States Air Force, Denny worked as an engineer for Sylvania Corporation, in Buffalo, NY, then moved his family in 1967 to Medfield, MA, where he worked for the Raytheon Corporation for 25 years. While living in Medfield he was an active member of the Medfield Lions Club for many years. After retiring, he and Sue moved to Grantham, NH, where the entire family enjoyed many fun filled years of summer and winter activities. Selling his property in Eastman, he moved full time to Hilton Head Island in 2013. Over the years, Denny enjoyed all the latest and greatest, state-of-the-art electronics and "gadgets", music of all kinds especially, Frank Sinatra, his computer, tennis, golf, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends. He was extremely intelligent, witty, fun, and a joy to be around. Denny was the life of the party. His laughter was infectious. He will be truly missed by all. All are invited to attend a "celebration" of Denny's life on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Basil Restaurant, 43 Frairy Street in Medfield, MA from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M.
