SGT.MAJOR Gary W. Kramber

SGT.MAJOR Gary W. Kramber SGT.MAJOR Gary W. Kramber, 72, USMC Retired, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at MUSC in Charleston, SC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 5-7pm with a Rosary at 6:30pm at Anderson Funeral Home. A Christian Mass of burial will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 12:30pm at St. Peter's Catholic Church with interment at 2:00 pm in Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Kramber was born in Litchfield, MN and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joann Wilts Kramber, and their two daughters, Lori (Jeff) Morgan and Lisa Sutton, both of Beaufort, SC. He left behind four grandchildren; Sarah Morgan, Tyler Morgan, Chad Sutton and Ryan Sutton and ten great grandchildren, all of Beaufort. Mr. Kramber will be missed by four brothers; Jerry (Karen) Kramber of Foley, MN, Terry (Barbara) Kramber of Glenwood, MN, Cary (Denise) Kramber of Conyers, GA, and Clarence Kramber of Glenwood, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Violet (Thurber) Kramber and a sister, Sherry (Kramber) Donabauer of South Haven, MN. Mr. Kramber served his country 30 years in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He served with Marine Aircraft Group 31 on numerous deployments overseas and several tours aboard aircraft carriers with squadrons from Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. Later in his marine career he served at the training center in Millington, TN and also at Parris Island with 2nd Battalion and 3rd Battalion as senior drill instructor. He served his last tour as Sgt. Major of RTR (Recruit Training Regiment), retiring in 1993. Gary was a proud and courageous marine, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed both hunting and fishing and participated in several hunting clubs and fishing tournaments in the Beaufort area. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church 70 Lady's Island Drive Beaufort, SC 29907 or St. Theresa Catholic Church, 162 Hwy 321 Bypass North, Winnsboro, SC 29180. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
