Joseph Farrugia Obituary
In the early 1970s, Joseph worked in the textile industry, relocating to Greenwood, South Carolina in the mid-1970s. He eventually retired to Bluffton, South Carolina.
Joseph enjoyed watching and playing soccer, dancing, fishing, and spending time at the Maltese Social Club in New York. He enjoyed taking his sons to see the New York Cosmos play on Randall's Island and fishing in Long Island and South Carolina.
In retirement, Joe enjoyed caring for pets, good food, and finding peace in the Lowcountry. He remained connected to his grandchildren over the years.
Though he never remarried, he shared a meaningful companionship with Marilyn Jaffe, whom he met in South Carolina.
Joseph was predeceased by an older brother who passed before his birth, and by his sisters Rose and Irene. He is survived by his sons Joseph (Catherine) and Charles (Debra) Farrugia; grandchildren Harrison, Eric, and Anna Rose Farrugia; sisters Kathleen, Antoinette, and Bessie; and his brother Charlie.

Joseph was a delight to me and many in our neighborhood as he inspired us all by walking almost daily with his walker and oxygen.
He had a strong spirit, and gentle at times freely displaying his emotions; humble in asking for help when he needed it.
I miss seeing him walk by the house, as his presence always made me smile.
His 87 years of life has certainly left his mark on our hearts!
To Joseph and Charlie, I'm glad you both made the trip to South Carolina to see him. You are in my prayers still, as you continue in life without your dad.
