Laurel Yates Obituary

Laurel Horry Yates, 68, died Monday, March 10, 2014 in Ridgeland, SC.  She was born in Charleston, SC on August 9, 1945 to the late Elias Edward Horry and Evelyn Morrison Horry. She was a bookkeeper for Horry's Water Well Company.  She is survived by her husband, G. Kevin Yates of Ridgeland, SC; son, W. Shannon Tanner-Malphrus (Kendall) also of Ridgeland, SC; daughter, Laurel Faith Harvey of Beaufort, SC; stepsons, Christopher D. Yates (Brandy) of Beaufort, SC; Guy K. Yates, Jr. (Caitlin) of Charleston, SC; Paul W. Hair of Beaufort, SC; David L. Hair of Ridgeland, SC; stepdaughter, Terri Lynn Love of Savannah, GA; brothers, John D. Horry (Denise) , Dr. Malcolm H. Horry (Lynne), Joel Trapair Horry (Gay), all of Ridgeland, SC and sister, Mary Elise H. Gabbard (Donald) of Ridgeland, SC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Hugh Horry and sisters, Evelyn M. Horry-Leland and Carlotta Horry.  Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2013 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with burial in Grahamville Cemetery. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
