Lesa Howell-Benitez Obituary

Lesa Mischell Howell-Benitez Lesa Mischell Howell-Benitez, 48, of Hilton Head, passed away November 10, 2009 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with a chronic illness. She was born December 14, 1961 in Augusta, Ga., the daughter of the late Martha Anne {Tootsie} Howell of Bluffton, S.C. and Charles Dare Howell of Hilton Head, S.C., Grandmother, Agnes Chamblee Henderson of Evans, Ga. She is survived by her husband Narcizo Benitez and four children: Tootsie Dare {Scooter} Johnson of Richmond Hill, Ga., Charles Pearson Boyles III of Baton Rouge, L.A., Mary Margaret Boyles of Ridgeland, S.C., and Alex Benitez of Hilton Head, S.C. and Grand Daughter, Lennon Michelle Griffen of Guyton, Ga. Several siblings, two brothers, Charles {Chuck} Leslie Howell, John Dare Howell of Hilton Head, S.C.,three sisters, Martha {Toyie} Robinson of Savannah,Ga., Cyndie Bradford of Hilton Head,S.C.,Bellamy Murphy of Savannah, Ga., two nieces and six nephews and devoted friend, Julie Young of Bluffton, S.C. Memorial Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 15, 2009 by "The Church of the Cross" at Bluffton Public Dock, Calhoun Street, Bluffton, S.C. Lesa was a compassionate animal lover. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to your favorite Animal Charity Organization. Please sign our on-line guest book at The Island Funeral Home, Hilton Head, S.C.

Charlie & family - I am so sorry for the loss of Lesa. I will always remember Lesa as that cute, scrappy, funny little girl growing up...her love of plants/animals - she was very talented.
