Nicholas Houle Obituary
February 27, 1993 - June 3, 2022
Salt Lake City, Utah - A full stack Software Developer/Data Architect and self-proclaimed "Fixer of Everything," Nick Houle's memory lives on in everyone who knew him.
A brother, a partner, a son, and a friend. Nick passed away suddenly on June 3, 2022 at the age of 29 surrounded by friends and loved ones.
From a young age, Nick was always full of life, inquisitive and adventurous.
He threw himself into the experiences of life whole heartedly and without abandon. A talented musician, software developer, a jack of all trades, truly a person with a heart big enough to hold room for anyone and everyone.
Nick's personality was contagious, he brought joy, love and laughter wherever he went and was the life of every gathering. He had an uncanny ability to read people and give them what they needed. He gave back to local and national communities through his charitable donations and used his free time to help those in need.
Nick also suffered from alcohol addiction. While he was unable to overcome that battle, he was a fierce and persistent fighter for those who couldn't fight and lived his life and each day as fully as he could. He is survived by his fiancé Hailey Wilkinson, his sister Jackie Houle, and his parents.
Private memorial services will be held in Draper, Utah on Sunday, August 14th and Hilton Head Island on Saturday, September 24th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Alcoholics Anonymous.

This is such a shock! Nick and I spent a while on an engineering team together at Instructure. After shipping a particularly tough feature we all took the day off together to go skiing at Snowbird and had a blast.
He was always kind and cracked the team up playing us off one another for jokes.
Man, I'll miss him!
