Pat was enthroned in a tall armchair where he reigned as Grand Patriarch at our Happy Hour in the lobby of Building A. His walker held a bottle of wine which he shared and a mirror he used to hold up to see who was approaching from behind so that he could greet them with that voice like no other. I always called him Sir because I was and may be still the youngest person at The Cypress. On occasion, I felt the urge to genuflect when I passed by his chair but I think he might have conked me on the head with that wine bottle.
Pat had a great Spirit and from that, a largeness of heart and mind and soul and I always felt ennobled by his presence. You all will be in my prayers and, God willing, Pat will be there to guide me.

Sorry to hear of your dads passing. The Gilmore family was such a large part of my mothers life. Always enjoyed seeing uncle Pat and aunt Jean and whoever they brought along that day. Peace John G King

Dad appreciated Pat's friendship especially during lunchtime at the Cypress. Dad said he knew that lunchtime conversation was over when Pat folded his napkin and put it on the table. He always referred to Pat as his oldest friend because he knew him from when they both lived in Basking Ridge, NJ. Dad predeceased Pat by about 3 months but now they are together again in heaven!
