Paul G. Dobbs Paul G. Dobbs, 81, of Hilton Head Island, formerly of Old Tappan, NJ and Pocono Pines, PA, died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Hilton Head Hospital. He was born February 21, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of William A. Dobbs and Virginia Kelly. He was a 1955 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. His working career was in accounting/ finance and he was VP of Finance for Sinclair & Valentine Co., NY, NY, Controller for Inmont Corp, NJ, and worked in various financial positions for BASF Corporation, NJ until his retirement in 1994. Post retirement, Paul worked as Controller for American Safety Technologies, NJ, until moving to Hilton Head in 1998. He enjoyed working as a golf ranger for the Sea Pines Resort for 17 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janet Pultorak Dobbs, son P. Michael Dobbs of Moorestown NJ, daughter Janine V. Sweeney (Ken) of Great Falls, VA and daughter Julie E. Soriano (Scott) of Schertz, TX as well as eight wonderful grandchildren: Mikey, Alison and Luke Dobbs, Connor, Bridget and Caroline Sweeney and Alexandra and Ava Soriano. He loved golf, bocce and all "ball" sports especially his NY Mets and NY Giants but most of all, he loved his family and his friends. Funeral arrangements by the Island Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis By The Sea Roman Catholic Church, Beach City, Road, Hilton Head Island. Interment will be in St. Francis Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriors Project or the Pregnancy Center and Clinic of the Low Country, Hilton Head Island would be appreciated.
