Richard Rucker Obituary

Richard L. "Rick" RuckerRichard L. "Rick" Rucker, 64, of Bluffton, SC died December 8, 2014. Rick was born in Eugene, OR on August 11, 1950, the son of the late Richard L. Rucker and Mary Lou Spangler Rucker. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and three time recipient of the Purple Heart. He worked for many years in home construction and was currently the Construction Manager for Village Park Homes. Mr. Rucker is survived by his loving wife, Pat Rucker; daughters, Kammy Mauldin (Mark) of Charleston, SC, Dawn Johnson (Scott) of Fresno, CA, and Kasie Hazen (Timothy) of Land O' Lakes, FL; step-son, Todd Brassard (Mary) of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Dominic Parker, Gage Parker, Mason Lewis, Tyler Rucker, Markus Mauldin, and Braden Martin. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.

Pat, I was so sad to see the notice of Rick's death in the paper today. I can't believe it! What a strong person to be gone so young.
