Beaufort, South Carolina - Ruth Alice Beem, 83, of Burton, died 22 November 2024 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Graveside services will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery.

Ruth Alice was born May 21st, 1941, in Cambridge, Ohio, a daughter of William Henry Kuhn and Ruth Alice King Kuhn. She was married and had 4 children. She served on the selective service board during the Vietnam War, and ran the draft board out of New Lexington. Later she moved with her children to Burton, South Carolina with the assistance of her brother Bill and his Family, he was serving in the USMC. She worked years as a secretary and was employed as part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation aboard Parris Island, later she attended the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Late in life she enjoyed years driving with her husband "Jim" with long haul trucking across the United States and into Canada.

She was preceded by her parents, and two of her brothers; Chuck early in Life and later Larry, and her husband Jim (John Charles). Surviving all of whom she loved and cared about deeply: are her brothers and her sister, Bill with his wife Libby; Jerry with his wife Ida; Barbara with her husband David. Her four children Chris, Yvonne with her husband Ron, Jean, and Nathan. Along with her 13 Grandchildren, and 23 Great Grandchildren. All of them were remembered with photos, memories and talks, especially during the last months of her life.
