December 14, 1963 - January 12, 2022
Montgomery, Alabama - Sharon Marie Berrigan Katz died peacefully in her bed on Wednesday, January 12th. She passed wrapped in her husband's arms and enveloped by her family's love.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Dr. Bradley Katz and four children, Alexander, Erin, Brenna, and Tara.
She was born in Syracuse, New York to Dr. Thomas and Marjorie Berrigan of Hilton Head Island. She graduated from Sea Pines Academy and The University of Texas School of Nursing. And became a pediatric nurse where her compassion and grace touched the lives of many. At Herman Memorial Hospital she met and fell in love with her husband, Brad. They were married 31 years in October.
An avid sports fan, Sharon was a fixture in the stands, cheering on the underdog. She was overjoyed to see her youngest, Tara, win an SEC championship with the Tennessee Lady Vols in 2021.
Sharon took great pride in her home--but nothing compared to her pride and love for her children. She was a mother, godmother, aunt, daughter, and sister. She opened her heart for all she knew.
Her life was more full of family and friends than most. We are grateful for every second she spent with us.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 4pm at the Montgomery Country Club.

Our sincerest condolences to Alexander, Erin, Brenna, Tara and Brad. Sharon loved her kids with such great pride in them. She was the sweetest young child and faced her challenges in adulthood, including her cancer, with quiet grace and with a smile. Our prayers for peace and comfort are with her family, especially her much loved children, husband and her devoted and loving mother and father, Marjorie and Thomas Berrigan Jr.
