Alfred Weber Obituary

LYNN -- Mr. Alfred N. Weber, age 93, of West Lynn, died on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at his home, with his family at his side, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Evelyn K. (Farrell) Weber, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late Alfred J. and Helen (Curtin) Weber. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Boys High School, Class of 1941 and of Boston College Class of 1947. Al was a World War II Veteran serving in the Army Air Corps in the European Theatre from 1942-1945. He had worked for many years as a manager at the former Essex Bank and had also previously worked for GE in Lynn. A lifelong Communicant and Lay Leader of Scared Heart Parish in Lynn, Al was a member of Valladolid Council #70 Knights of Columbus, Lynn and of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree Fr. Gabrielle Druillette Assembly. He was also a former member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was also Past President of the Lynn Red Cross, and was active in Boy Scouting for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Alfred J. Weber and his wife Margaret of Reading, PA., Nicholas J. Weber and his wife Robin of Southbridge, Mary M. Weber Sarris of Lynn and Deacon Mark E. Weber and his wife Cathie of San Bernardino, Calif., a brother Atty. Robert J. Weber and his wife Judith of Lynn, and nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Rev. Charles P. Weber and Richard H. "Buddy"? Weber. Service information: His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the SOLIMINE Funeral Home 426 Broadway (Rte. 129), Lynn followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in the World War II lot at Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4-7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839 or the Bertram Hose of Swampscott, 565 Humphrey St., Swampscott, MA 01907.
