HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Mrs. Alice Helen (Werner) Cahill, 80 years of Hallandale Beach, FL and formerly of Lynn and Nahant died on Friday, July 19, 2013 in the
Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family. She was the former wife of the late Donald H. Cahill, a retired Lynn Firefighter. She was born in Saugus and raised in Lynn, the daughter of the late John "Jake" & Mary "Mamie" (McMullen) Werner. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. She also attended North Shore Community College and The University of Maine.Mrs. Cahill worked as a Paralegal for the United States Government, Coast Guard in their Vessel Documentation Unit. She retired in 1998 after 20 years service. She also had worked at Mount Pleasant Hospital in Lynn.Alice was known for her devotion to help others. She was a women's advocate through Women in the Workplace. She was a volunteer at HAWC and a former board member and continued supporter of My Brother's Table. She was a very grateful friend of Bill W. and his wife Lois for over 45 years. She enjoyed reading and most especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.Alice is survived by her daughters, Joanne DePriest of Lynn, Cherie Joyce and her husband Dan of Peabody, Patty VanAmburg of Lynn, Bonnie Coletti and her husband Ben of Lynn, Jennifer Calef and her husband Glen of Lynn, her grandchildren, Dawn and Donald DePriest, Julie, Christopher and Kasey Joyce, Ryan, Kyle and Kelly VanAmburg, Daniel and Rebecca Coletti, Glen, Thomas and Marcus Calef. She also leaves 10 great grandchildren, "her precious babies" Jett, Adrianna, Rylee, Jake, Maxx, Eva, Tyler, Brandon, Brianna and Ashley. She is the sister of Jerry Guzman of Lynn, John Werner of Lynn and Joe Werner of Lynn. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She is the mother of the late Douglas Duncan Little, and Donna Marie Cahill. She is the sister of the late Ruth Lozzi, Robert Werner, and Charles Werner.Service Information: Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN AND RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn, MA at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Lynn at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
