Beverly S. English, 82

December 24, 1940 - July 7, 2023

Nahant - Beverly, Sandra (Chamberlin) English, age 82, passed away peacefully July 7, surrounded by her loving family.

Bev, a lifelong resident of Nahant, was the daughter of Stephen Chamberlin and Beatrice (Clough) Chamberlin. She was a 1958 graduate of Lynn English High School, and a graduate of Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. Upon graduation from Katharine Gibbs, she was employed at London Guarantee Insurance Company until the birth of her son, David.

Beverly was the beloved wife of William English, Jr., with whom she shared 56 years of marriage, until his passing in 2018.

Beverly was the epitome of class and elegance. She will be remembered for her striking beauty, an impeccable wardrobe, quick sense of humor, a golden tan, large handbags, perfectly coordinated jewelry, love of family and dogs, appreciation of opera, and most importantly her ability to immediately engage in comfortable conversation with everyone. She had many close lifelong friends with whom she shared Canoe Beach, Tuesday Morning Breakfasts, concerts and plays.

She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Dawn Miles, her son-in-law, but son in her eyes, Edward Miles, her adored and treasured granddaughters, Brooke Miles and Jillian Miles, sister-in-law and dear friend, Mary Jane "Janie" English, and close friend, Doris Bongiorno. Beverly is also survived by her "sister" May A. Miles and her extensive family.

Beverly was predeceased by her husband, William F. English, Jr., who adored her for the perfect wife she was, and her beloved son, David W. English, who was grateful for having such a loving and understanding mother. She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law, Paul English, nephew Paul English, Jr. and sister-in-law Anne English-Santucci.

Although no longer physically with us, Bev's spirit as a loving wife, Mom, Nana and loyal friend will remain in our hearts forever.

Service Information: Visitation will be Thursday July 13 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rt. 1A) Lynn, MA 01902 immediately followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, burial immediately followed in Greenlawn Cemetery, 195 Nahant Rd, Nahant, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Those unable to attend are requested to take a shopping trip to Marshalls or TJ Maxx and treat yourself to something nice.
