SALEM ? Biagio ?Benny? Crescenzo , 77 years, of Salem and formerly of Swampscott , died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by his devoted family and friends. He is the husband of Mrs. Jean (Sapuppo) Crescenzo with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, and was the love of her life. He was born in Boston and raised in East Boston , the son of the late Biagio and Rose (Miccichi) Crescenzo. He was a graduate of East Boston High School . Ben lived in Swampscott the past 47 years. Benny enjoyed traveling. He was an avid football fan and Patriots fan. He was famous for his ?corny? jokes. He adored his six grandchildren. Benny was a Navy Veteran and served at the Naval Station in Puerto Rico . He was a pipe coverer for 38 years with the Asbestos Union Local 6 in Boston. He also served as a custodian in the Swampscott Middle School for many years. In addition to his wife he leaves his three daughters, Laura-Jean Dube? of Salem, Leane Romano and her husband, Stephen, of Litchfield, N.H., Jennifer Saeed and her husband, Ahmad, of Swampscott, a son, Brian C. Crescenzo and his wife, Kerri, of Peabody, his grandchildren, Louis Dube?, Arielle Roy, the twins Yasmine and Ebrahim Saeed, Isabella and Sophia Romano. He leaves his sisters, Stephanie Facenda of Seattle, Wash., Julia Paulson of Revere, Mary Capo and her husband, John, of Saugus, his sister-in-law, Claire Crescenzo of Peabody. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is the brother of the late Charles Crescenzo, Vincenza Siciliano and Peter Crescenzo. Service information: Biagio?s funeral will be held on Friday , Aug. 19, 2016, at 9 a.m., from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME , 67 Ocean St. (Route 1A) Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in Holy Family Church , Lynn, at 10 a.m. Burial in Swampscott Cemetery . Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
